Insulated shipping cartons - the perfect cold chain shipping option

2025 07/02

In order to verify the differences between thermal insulation cartons and foam boxes in terms of insulation performance, environmental protection and transportation efficiency, we conducted a comparative experiment. In the experiment, thermal insulation cartons and foam boxes of the same volume were selected as test objects, and temperature sensors were placed in each box to monitor the internal temperature changes. In addition, standard-sized ice cubes were used as cold sources to ensure that the initial conditions of the two were consistent.

Experimental design

- Environmental setting: The two boxes filled with ice cubes were placed at room temperature (about 25°C).
- Monitoring time: The temperature inside the box was recorded every hour for 12 hours.
- Additional considerations: In addition to directly comparing the insulation effect, factors such as the recyclability of the material, the size of the occupied space and the transportation cost were also considered.

Experimental results

After 12 hours of continuous monitoring, it was found that under the same external conditions, the temperature change curve inside the thermal insulation carton almost overlapped with that of the foam box, indicating that the two packaging materials have considerable performance in maintaining low temperatures. This means that insulated cartons can effectively replace traditional foam boxes in transportation scenarios that require refrigerated or frozen items.

Environmental advantages

Unlike foam materials that are difficult to degrade and cause pollution to the environment, insulated cartons are mainly made of renewable resources and are easy to recycle, reducing environmental pollution problems caused by waste disposal. In addition, due to its unique structural design, it can be quickly decomposed even after completing its mission, further reducing the negative impact on nature.

Logistics benefits

Considering the logistics needs in actual applications, insulated cartons show greater flexibility. Not only can it be folded up when not in use to save storage space, but it can also load more goods in the same size of transport vehicles, thereby effectively increasing the single transport volume without adding additional costs. This allows companies to maximize economic benefits while ensuring product quality.

In summary, this experiment shows that compared with traditional foam boxes, insulated cartons not only have excellent insulation performance, but also show significant advantages in environmental protection and improving logistics efficiency. Therefore, in the future cold chain logistics field, insulated cartons are expected to become a more ideal choice.
